Project 8 – 90 Workbooks for Muslim Inmates at Oregon State Penitentiary

We launched Project 8 on January 21, 2021, to get 45 copies each of Bakkah Publications’ “Aspects of the Days of Ignorance: Masaa’il al-Jaahiliyyah” and “50 Hadeeth on Personal Hygiene & Purification” workbooks to the Muslims Inmates at Oregon State Penitentiary. The Muslim population in this facility is small and due to the current restrictions, they are unable to have classes at their chaplaincy.

Alhamdulilāh, the inmates have tablets that they can utilize to download the lessons to study these beneficial books within their cells.

We needed a total of $1068 for the purchase of the books, the shipping and handling costs involved in completing this project. We invited everyone to contribute to our PayPal Money Pool, and by January 23, 2021, we raised the required funds. We had a total of 22 contributors chipping in to help us achieve this. Since we surpassed the amount needed to buy the books by $88, we will be putting it towards our next project in shaa Allah.

This was our first project in the West Coast and we hope to facilitate more of these endeavors throughout the US in shaa Allah.
