Project 14 – 36 Ramadhaan Books for Muslim Inmates in Washington Corrections Center

This was our second project for the month of Ramadhaan 1442H. We coordinated with Hikmah Publications to send 36 copies of the “Important Lessons for Ramadan” to our brothers in Washington Corrections Center, Washington State. We announced the launch of this project on our Twitter on April 8, 2021. We invited our supporters to donate through our PayPal Pool and help us purchase the books at a wholesale cost.

Alhamdulilāh we exceeded our goal on April 9, 2021, with a total of 14 contributors chipping in.

This was a great opportunity to send these books to the inmates to benefit from during the blessed month of Ramadhaan walhamdulilāh. The books have since been shipped to the facility and we will provide updates on confirmation of receipt in shaa Allah.

UPDATE [April 23, 2021]: After following up with the chaplain, they notified us that the books were received and gave us the following feedback :

“The good news is that our office received the box yesterday in an undamaged state. We’ve already received requests for the book, and I want to extend my thanks again for supporting the Muslim population at WCC.”
