Project 28 – 25 Books To The Muslim Inmates In California (Part 1)
We received a request to send a copy of the translation of the meanings of The Noble Quran in the English language to a Muslim inmate in Federal Correctional Complex, California. As is our policy when we receive individual requests, we reached out to the chaplain of that facility to see how many muslims inmates they had and what their needs were.
Alhamdulillaah we had a good conversation with the chaplain who informed us that they had 250 Muslim inmates. They mentioned the need for Islamic materials in this prison and how grateful they were of the service we were offering. They mentioned that the christian inmates had many organizations looking after them but this was not the case for the muslim inmates.
This is a statement that we hear frequently from various prisons that we contact. This no doubts shows the importance of the service we provide and the need for the Muslims to support these humble efforts along with those of our brothers such as @MasjidSunnahIAP,
@PrisonBookDrive and others.
The chaplain told us of their donation policy and this is why this project is being broken up into different parts. We can only send a certain value amount so we sending an initial 25 copies of The Noble Quran in the English language first.
For the first two projects, the brother who initially informed us of this request as they knew the inmate in this facility has graciously donated $500 towards this project. May Allah reward him well and grant him success.
This is an exemplary display of the verse in the Noble Quran [57:21] Race toward forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden whose width is like the width of the heavens and earth, prepared for those who believed in Allah and His messengers. That is the bounty of Allah which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.
In shaa Allah our supporters will have the opportunity to also aid in the spread of authentic Islamic resources within the prisons in other upcoming projects.
